Polk County Parks and Recreation is excited to announce this year’s
Good Ol’ Days Folk Festival at Homeland Heritage Park
Saturday, May 6, the historic buildings at Homeland Heritage Park will open their doors to a day of food, contests and events with a live marketplace featuring historic trade showcases and handcrafted goods for sale. From our event stage, we’ll be joined by musical trio Ramblin’ Rose to play live folk and country music.
Feeling competitive? Experienced whip crackers can compete in our annual whip cracking contest starting at 12:30pm! Participation in this year’s whip cracking contest comes with a $10 entry fee, cash only. You will have to bring your own whip to compete! Winners will receive a trophy and prize. All ages welcome.
Also, this year’s festival will include our annual corn shucking contest! Try your hand to see if you can outpace the competition 
This year’s Good Ol’ Days Folk Festival is Saturday, May 6 2023 at Homeland Heritage Park, from 10am – 2pm. Entry to this year’s festival, corn shucking competition and kids’ crafts is free!
